Conducting Master Class with
We have received many applications from potential candidates, and the final participants will be selected and notified soon. Each of our three participants will have a total of 15 minutes to conduct all or a portion of their selected piece with the choir and receive feedback from our clinician.

Tesfa Wondemagegnehu, conductor of The Radio Choir from American Public Media and manager of APM’s Choral Works Initiative, previously served as Assistant Artistic Director ofVocalEssence in Minneapolis, MN. As a high school teacher, he was named Orange County Public School’s Teacher of the Year and received the Macy’s National Magic of Teaching Award. He led his choirs in performances at state conventions of the American Choral Directors Association and the Florida Music Educators’ Association, and most recently presented a clinic at the 2015 American Choral Directors Association National Conference.
Wondemagegnehu is widely in demand as a guest conductor and lecturer. He has presented workshops and conducted honor choirs in Hawaii, Iowa, Florida, Tennessee, Ohio, Minnesota, Utah, Washington and Costa Rica. As a tenor soloist, he has performed both in the United States and internationally in Germany, Austria, and Hungary, and Costa Rica.
Tesfa Yohannes Wondemagegnehu holds a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting and Vocal Performance from the Florida State University and a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Memphis.
Our demonstration choir is a select group of alumni from both Manchester High School and Central Connecticut State University choirs, ranging from college students to professional singers. This group, organized and prepared by Mr. Ed Tyler and accompanied by Mr. Michael McCarthy, has come together specifically for the purpose of singing for our master class!
